The 5th-dimensional beings are actually future humans that went through the same thing. So humans could not create the wormhole unless the events of the movie happened, but the events of the movie could not have happened unless the humans created the wormhole. This is the mind confusing part. This happens because everything always happened. In the 5th dimension, time doesn't exist. Every moment happens forever. So, how can you change something if it's already there? For example, if you build a time machine, which is actually kind of what happened) and try to go back in time to prevent world war I from happening. You try to prevent Franz Ferdinand from getting assassinated, but you end up CAUSING the assassination of Franz Ferdinand. So, essentially, YOU cause world war I by trying to prevent it from happening. It can make your brain hurt, but think about this! Nolan has yet again, made an unforgettable hit, which will no doubt live through the ages by all fans of cinema. However, sadly, Nolan has been yet again snubbed by the Academy awards committee, as his movie has not received a single nomination for any of the "big 5" awards. It is sad, mostly because, last year, a similar movie (similar only in genre, qualitatively no where near Interstellar level) did receive numerous nominations, winning the most Oscars (including best director) at the 2014 academy awards. Luckily, I hope that people know that the academy awards committee have made clamorous mistakes in the past, and that they particularly dislike certain directors, and actors for political reasons.
Regardless of what the Oscar committee thinks, this movie is a must see, mind blowing, Nolan masterpiece. Enjoy It.
