Cooper goes into the black hole and sends Murph the singularity data. With that, she is able to solve quantum physics and it allows her to know HOW to manipulate time and space and create wormholes, tesseracts, etc. Then, they find humanity's new home, the one Professor Brand is on. They live there and they expand as a species. Then, they create the tesseract that Cooper was in and they create the wormhole that allowed the humans to discover the 12 planets to begin with. The 5th-dimensional beings are actually future humans that went through the same thing. So humans could not create the wormhole unless the events of the movie happened, but the events of the movie could not have happened unless the humans created the wormhole. This is the mind confusing part. This happens because everything always happened. In the 5th dimension, time doesn't exist. Every moment happens forever. So, how can you change something if it's already there? For example, if you build a time machine, which is actually kind of what happened) and try to go back in time to prevent world war I from happening. You try to prevent Franz Ferdinand from getting assassinated, but you end up CAUSING the assassination of Franz Ferdinand. So, essentially, YOU cause world war I by trying to prevent it from happening. It can make your brain hurt, but think about this! If you did stop World War I from happening, then you would never be trying to stop World War I from happening in the first place! So those entire series of events had to unfold exactly as portrayed. The same thing with this, if Cooper was never able to send the data, then the wormhole would never have existed in the first place! So no matter what, no matter what you do to try to change something. It will never change. In fact, your attempts to stop it from happening probably CAUSES it to happen. So that's my understanding. I still like this flick a lot more than the new one. This film has a lot more people in city that you mix with and you hear things like hari hari. which makes the audience laugh. at 1:15 Rutger Hauer is the most beautiful man face I have ever seen. This is undoubtedly one of the best sci-fi movies ever made. From the epic storyline, to McConaughey's impeccable acting, the visual effects, and the spine-tingling sound-track. Even though slow and slightly too long in the first hour of the movie, it builds up to an extremely climactic ending, comparable to 2001: A space odyssey, being almost as intricate, and complex to understand as Kubrick's masterpiece.
Nolan has yet again, made an unforgettable hit, which will no doubt live through the ages by all fans of cinema. However, sadly, Nolan has been yet again snubbed by the Academy awards committee, as his movie has not received a single nomination for any of the "big 5" awards. It is sad, mostly because, last year, a similar movie (similar only in genre, qualitatively no where near Interstellar level) did receive numerous nominations, winning the most Oscars (including best director) at the 2014 academy awards. Luckily, I hope that people know that the academy awards committee have made clamorous mistakes in the past, and that they particularly dislike certain directors, and actors for political reasons.
Regardless of what the Oscar committee thinks, this movie is a must see, mind blowing, Nolan masterpiece. Enjoy It.
